The Elora Festival and Partners Present Festival Faire
July 8th | 2:00 – 9:00 pm | Free admission
Wellington County Museum & Archives | 536 Wellington Road 18, Elora
The Elora Festival has partnered with several Centre Wellington festivals, event organizers, merchants, performers, artists and artisans to create a Canada 150th celebration showcasing all that this region has to offer. Festival Faire harkens back to the county fairs of the past and is a free event for the public, with live performances, activities, displays and food/drinks on July 8th from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm on the grounds of the Wellington County Museum.
“Centre Wellington is renowned for its natural beauty, creativity, and rich culture and heritage. The Festival Faire promises to be a fun, family-friendly celebration of this while honouring the region’s importance in Canada’s history,” says Chris Sharpe, General Manager of the Elora Festival and Singers. “The beautiful exterior grounds and the interior spaces of the Wellington County Museum will come alive with entertainment, lots of things to see, hands-on activities, as well as local food and drink.”
The main Festival Faire partners with the Elora Festival include The Elora Singers, Riverfest Elora, the Fergus Scottish Festival & Highland Games, Wellington County Museum, Elora Centre for the Arts, and Elora & Fergus Tourism. A stage on the front lawns will see performers throughout the afternoon representing each of the local festivals and events, culminating in a performance by celebrated fiddler, Ashley MacIsaac, at 7:00 pm. Other performers and activities will take place throughout the grounds that represent the people, the geography, and the events that take place throughout Centre Wellington.
This event is free to the public. For more information, contact (519) 846-0331.
This initiative is made possible by the Community Fund for Canada’s 150th, a collaboration between Centre Wellington Community Foundation, the Government of Canada, and extraordinary leaders from coast to coast to coast.
